Summary

The graphic novel adaptations of the #1 New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series continue to set the world on fire!

Daring mission。。。 or deadly mistake?

Winter has been a disappointment to his royal IceWing family his whole life。 When his sister, Icicle, runs away from Jade Mountain Academy, fleeing terrible crimes and possibly planning to commit more, Winter knows that they both need a second chance to make things right -- if only he can find her。

Winter's new clawmates, Moon, Qibli, and Kinkajou, won't let him make this dangerous journey alone。 They don't seem to understand that IceWings, the most superior of all dragon tribes, can fix their own problems。 When their search leads the dragonets straight into Queen Scarlet's vicious talons, Winter is grateful to have some help。 But even the bravest dragons can't follow him to the Ice Kingdom, where he'll have to face the greatest threat of his own family。

The #1 New York Times bestselling Wings of Fire series soars to new heights in the seventh graphic novel adaptation, with art by Mike Holmes。

Disappointing art as usual。 This one is adapted from one of the more intriguing books in the original series, so it has that going for it at least。 I felt like the graphic novel did a rather poor job of explaining itself, though - had I not read the original version, I doubt I would know what was going on at times, though seeing as I read it several years ago now I did have a bit of trouble in certain places。 It seems the characters' faces become more squashed-in with every successive adaptation Disappointing art as usual。 This one is adapted from one of the more intriguing books in the original series, so it has that going for it at least。 I felt like the graphic novel did a rather poor job of explaining itself, though - had I not read the original version, I doubt I would know what was going on at times, though seeing as I read it several years ago now I did have a bit of trouble in certain places。 It seems the characters' faces become more squashed-in with every successive adaptation。 I've read plenty comics and typically I see the art IMPROVE as the series goes along, but I guess that isn't always the case。 I used to feel bad for the artist having to work with such a mediocre story, but at this point the only person I can really bring myself to feel bad for is the colourist。 Everyone else involved in this is doing their job poorly。 。。。more

Mythical Mishmash

For fuck’s sake。

Winter is the best protagonist。 Winter Turning is the best book。 And Winterwatcher is the best shipping。 And the graphic novels are better than the books。Long story short, this ought to be a shining (get it, ice?) collection to the series。
